Voices of Women

Project Launch
Grant Award
A project between the Rothesay Living Museum and the Kennebecasis Public Library.

This project was created in reponse to several donations to the museum. Audio tapes of conversations with residents of Rothesay in the 1970's and 1980's created by the Rothesay Area Heitage Trust, made available through the archives of the Saint John Free Public Library and the Dorothy Purdy Collection which archives the concerns of a prominent local woman in a current context..

The Rothesay Living Museum digitized selected content for public access using current technology. The Voices of Women project today has a collection of conversations with residents on archived CDs maintained for distribution and cataloguing by the Kennebecasis Public Library. The project is ongoing with members of the museum committee interviewing residents. Eventually this content will be mostly accessible online.
