About the RLM

The Rothesay Living Museum was founded on the concept that our community's heritage and history should be preserved and honored. In order to remember who we are and where we come from, we need to collect our stories and images. It is important to share this information, especially with younger members of our community. With this in mind, the Rothesay Living Museum was formed as a partnership between the Town of Rothesay and Rothesay High School.

Rothesay High School is the original physical site of the Museum and its teachers and students partner with community volunteers to make the Rothesay Living Museum a reality. As Rothesay High School is the feeder school for students from the former communities that constitute the Town of Rothesay – Rothesay, Fairvale, East Riverside-Kingshurst, Wells and Renforth – it is an ideal partner in collecting, preserving and sharing our history.

The Rothesay Living Museum committee continues to seek material and to share that material with schools and with the public. From time to time, the RLM committee initiates events and projects that focus attention on our history and heritage. The Mayor and Members of Town Council support the RLM and provide funds for the committee's work.

Many of the Museum's artifacts are now stored at the Kings County Museum in Hampton, NB.
